“Planet Green/Discovery Channel” produced and aired a special called Ecopolis, A World of Trash. 

It featured the analysis of Dr. Dan Kammen*, a Nobel prize-winning energy scientist and Professor at Berkeley. The series explores four pioneering technologies to transform the imaginary future megacity, Ecopolis, by ridding the city of garbage without expanding emissions and pollution problems.  He evaluated:

1) Incineration with ash disposal in Singapore,

2) City sewage creating hot water,

3) Bio Char (a pyrolysis RNG process) and

4) High temperature plasma.
