The United States generated 292 MILLION TONS of municipal solid waste (GARBAGE) in 2018 and 335 MILLION TONS of manure (ANIMAL FECES).
Municipal solid waste & manure represent an astounding 7,800,000,000,000,000 Btu's per year. That's 7.8 QUADRILLION Btu's or, if you prefer, 7.8 MILLION BILLION Btu's!
That's an ENORMOUS amount of energy that is either INCINERATED or BURIED and WASTED every year in the USA alone!
Instead of being a desirable source of clean renewable energy, it is POLLUTING and CONTAMINATING our ATMOSPHERE, LAND and WATER.
In the US we are wasting the equivalent of 1.5 BILLION BARRELS of oil each year. In 2021, all oil companies in the US produced a total of 4.1 billion barrels of oil. Pyrolyzing garbage & manure could replace 37% of that energy, a staggering reduction.
That's over 4 million barrels per day of oil equivalent. More than TWICE the TOTAL barrels per day produced by the top 4 oil companies in the United States in 2017.
